With it being my first time really diving into film, editing, and recording, I'll admit that I was a bit skeptical at first. However, once I got my hands on the art that is production, I couldn't be stopped. I had a blast both recording my own work and starring in the works of my peers. The plot, the filming, the lighting- it was all fascinating! I had an extremely positive experience working on my first film, and I look forward to future productions in this class!
This first shot is an establishing shot, which allows the viewer to envision the location and mood.
This is a full shot, showing Kiley's full body from head to toe. I had a lot of fun messing around with the lighting during this shot as well.
Here is a medium shot, showing Kiley from only the knees up.
This is a tight shot, though there are some trees and a flash of sunlight peeking through, Cooper's beautiful face takes up nearly all of the screen.
Here is an over-the-shoulder shot, depicting Cooper conversing with Kiley.
Because Cooper ran straight into the camera, this is a head-on shot.
Here is a high-angle shot (often confused with an eye-level shot, because I am much taller than Cooper.)
Here is a cameo shot of Kiley drinking her iced coffee.
Here is a close-up, showing only Erin's face.
Here is a medium long shot, showing Kiley falling.
Lastly, a reaction shot, where Cooper reacts to something Kiley just said or did.
I really liked the establishing shot because it created a feeling of hope within the viewer. The gentle light and the overview of the location helped to create this very happy atmosphere.
ReplyDeleteI also liked the reaction shot. The quick pan to the subject made the reader feel the same surprise that the subject was displaying.
The tight shot was also very cool! I liked how the light came in from behind the subject's head and it made the shot seem very carefree and happy.
The closeup shot was very silly and fun. It made the viewer feel almost as if they were there as well and helped the viewer have fun.
Miranda,I really enjoyed your full shot of kiley walking up the staircase. The lighting was great and made me feel safe and happy. This scene definitely looks like it is a from a movie filmed in a high school in hawaii. The mood is very warm and very relaxed.
ReplyDeleteMiranda, your reaction shot was very fun and seemed like the viewer was involved, almost like a point of view shot. I feel like Cooper is looking into my eyes and showing me his reaction. Great job I really enjoyed this. I also liked how it was very short. The short timing kind of left the viewer wondering what exactly it was that he was reacting to.
ReplyDeleteThe high angle shot of cooper gets the job done well Miranda. The angle cooper is standing and positioned in the frame makes a nice scene. I really enjoyed this scene because it was also filmed at a diagonal angle. Great job
ReplyDeleteMiranda, your head on shot of cooper what looks to be running away from something gives off a mysterious feel. It makes the viewer think, "who is cooper running from, and why?". Also having cooper not directly in the middle of the frame makes it more satisfying and not a basic shot.
ReplyDeleteThe establishing shot you chose to film is very peaceful. It seems like the opening scene to a movie or TV show. It sets up the environment, time frame, and setting very nicely.
ReplyDeleteMiranda,
ReplyDeleteFirstly, your blog's aesthetic is gorgeous.
The first shot, I picked was the reaction shot with Cooper. It was an entertaining shot and shot really well.
The cameo shot was a bit dramatic with Kiley. This shot because of the white background showed Kiley as the focus of the shot.
The tight shot light is very nice and shows and gave me soft and happy vibes with the orange and yellow color of the sun.
The establishing shot was a gorgeous shot of Lely and established the mood of the setting. Overall, all your shots are great and it was very difficult just to pick four. Amazing job Miranda!
Thanks girl! :)
DeleteTight Shot- Your tight shot felt very personal and I enjoyed the sun glare
ReplyDeleteOver the shoulder shot- The over the shoulder shot helped me feel like I was a part of the conversation
Reaction shot- This shot made me feel what cooper might have been feeling
Full shot- This shot helped me establish a scene and know that she has a place to go
